DSA is a broad, multi-tendency, socialist organization that brings together activists to discuss and fight back against capitalism. As a caucus within DSA we want to build DSA, for DSA to have an impact in the struggle against exploitation and oppression and to educate new socialists. In terms of building the broad socialist movement, our first tasks are to be part of DSA’s effort to spread socialist ideas, recruit to and build DSA, and promote broad socialist organizing to raise the level of understanding and organization of our class. Within our big tent socialist organization, people can test out ideas and fight together no matter what flavor of socialist politics they support at the moment. 

We also have our distinct revolutionary Marxist ideas, politics, and policies. That’s why we formed a caucus of Marxist activists within DSA. We want to increase the influence of our ideas within DSA and recruit more DSA activists to our caucus. Obviously, activism is not limited to DSA: We encourage all DSA members and especially people in our caucus to be active in their union, at their workplace, in their communities and in progressive social movements and to work to build DSA in these arenas.
