After the attempt to assassinate Donald Trump, amidst the GOP Convention and ongoing demonstrations of Biden’s perceived unfitness, Philip Locker and Ty Moore assess the political landscape. 1) The Trump assassination attempt has shifted the US to the right. 2) The supposed unity against political violence is hypocritical; the left should not participate in it. 3) To address Trump and the Democratic Party’s failures, we need to build mass movements and a mass working-class party.
